Program Information

The Youth Climate Action Fund (YCAF) empowers young people aged 15–24 to lead meaningful climate action and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient Perth. The program supports youth leadership, innovation, and practical solutions that benefit people and the planet.   

Funding Available

Funding between $1,500 and $7,000 (excluding GST)

Key Dates

Applications Open: 24 August 2026

Application Close: 2 October 2026

Notification of Decision: Applicants will be notified of a decision up to 6 weeks from closing date.

Successful applicants are expected to commence their project no sooner than 13 November 2026 and complete their project by 15 April 2027. 

Youth applicant

The project proposal and grant process must be led by youth (aged 15-24) and supported by a not for profit or charitable organisation to help administer funds.

Grant guidelines

  • Review the guidelines and make sure you understand all requirements of the program.

Required Documentation

  1. Project budget 
    • An itemised draft budget showing a breakdown of project costs and any income if applicable.
  2. Evidence of financial viability
    • e.g. a recent bank statement, business activity statement or annual reporting statement.
  3. Copies of relevant insurance
    • If you don't have available this can be provided during the agreement stage.
